The Flood Planning map supports a series of workflows that streamline the creation and maintenance of flood plans. These editing workflows assume the requirements for Flood Planning have been met, and the Attribute Assistant Add-in has been installed and added to the Flood Planning map.

Flood Planning has three main functions:

• Determining the flood impact area using predicted flood levels
• Identifying critical infrastructure, facilities, and the general public that could be impacted
• Creating budgetary cost estimates for proposed levees

Flood Planning can help identify which facilities, infrastructure, and populations may be impacted at varying flood levels. This information can then be shared with others in a focused application published with ArcGIS Online, or on simple hard-copy maps and spreadsheets showing the facilities, populations, and infrastructure under the jurisdiction of each department.
