Public Land Survey Editing is a configuration of ArcMap that can be used by mapping technicians to maintain an accurate inventory of control points and related public land survey system (PLSS). It organizes control points and the public land survey system (townships, sections, aliquot divisions and special surveys) in a fabric data model that can be maintained with the ArcGIS for Desktop Parcel Editor Toolbar.
It is an editing map that can be used by mapping technicians in a Public Works agency, Register Of Deeds Office, Assessor's Office or any other agency responsible for managing the Public Land Survey System (PLSS).
The Public Land Survey Editing map also includes a toolset that can be used to publish a series of PLSS layers in the Cadastral National Spatial Data Infrastructure (CadNSDI) data format. These publication layers can also be used as a foundation for tax mapping and other boundary inventories in local and state government agencies.
Public Land Survey Editing requires specific software.
