Overview

Vision Zero is a configuration of the Crowdsource Reporter application that can be used by the general public to identify transportation hazards and dangerous traffic behaviors on roadways from a smartphone, tablet, and desktop computer. This application complements a comprehensive Vision Zero strategy adopted by local governments to reduce fatalities or serious injury on roadways in their community.

Vision Zero is typically deployed by public works agencies or police departments to enlist feedback from bikers, drivers, and pedestrians using public streets. Local Government personnel can configure Crowdsource Manager and Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS to monitor, verify and assign reports to responsible agencies for resolution. This feedback, along with crash data, is analyzed and used to educate the community, devise new enforcement methods, and promote land use and engineering practices that reduce transportation-related injuries.
