Set up the solution in ArcGIS Desktop

To get started using Visibility in ArcGIS Desktop, complete the following steps. Once complete, explore the solution by completing the steps in the Workflows section of the help.

  1. Download the Visibility solution.
  2. In your file browser, browse to the downloaded solution.
  3. Unzip the solution.

Set up the solution in ArcGIS Pro

Visibility is available for ArcGIS Pro as an add-in.

To set up the solution in ArcGIS Pro, complete the following steps:

  1. In the ArcGIS Pro folder, open the folder for your version of the software.
  2. Double-click the Visibility.esriAddInX file.
  3. Click Install Add-In on the Esri ArcGIS Add-In Installation Utility dialog.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Verify the installation:
    1. Start ArcGIS Pro.
    2. Click About ArcGIS Pro.
    3. Click Add-In Manager.

      The Visibility add-in is listed under My Add-Ins and is also available on the Add-In tab.

Set up the solution in ArcMap

Visibility is available for ArcMap as an add-in.

To set up the solution in ArcMap, complete the following steps:

  1. In the ArcMap folder, open the folder for your version of the software.
  2. Double-click the Visibility.esriAddIn file.
  3. Click Install Add-In on the Esri ArcGIS Add-In Installation Utility dialog.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Verify the installation:
    1. Start ArcMap.
    2. Click Customize > Add-In Manager.

      The Visibility add-in is listed under My Add-Ins.

  6. Click Customize > Customize Mode.
  7. Click the Commands tab.
  8. Choose Add-In Controls from Categories.
  9. Drag the Visibility tool from Commands onto an existing toolbar.
  10. Close the Customize window.
