Create street intersections

When creating new roads using the address data management tools, existing roads are split at any intersection along the new road. An inventory of these intersection locations with the names of the cross streets is often required within an organization for example to manage assets such as street signs or as an input to E911 systems.

To create street intersections, complete the following steps:

Select one or more street centerline features.
Click the Create Intersection Point Layer button on the Address Editing toolbar.

Note:

The will create one or more in-memory point feature layers that can be used in the current session of ArcMap. To persist the points permanently the layers can be exported to a feature class by right-clicking the layer and choosing Export Data or using a geoprocessing tool such as Copy Features.
