Configure application

The Health Resource Inventory application is a configuration of ArcGIS Web AppBuilder. This application consumes the Health Resource Inventory map you authored and geographic information from your organization.

To configure the Health Resource Inventory application, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization.
  2. Create an app using Web AppBuilder and add the following:
    • Title: Health Resource Inventory
    • Tags: Health Facilities, Medical Facilities, Homeless, Prescription Drug Facilities, Health, Human Services, Public Health.
    • Summary: An application used by public health agencies to inventory homeless, drug treatment, and other health and human service providers in a community.
  3. Click the Theme tab and choose the Plateau Theme, then choose the Style and Layout for your Health Resource Inventory application.
  4. Click the Map tab and if necessary click Choose Web Map, then browse to the Health Resource Inventory map and click OK.
  5. Click the Widgets tab, then click Set the widget in this controller and remove the Legend widget and Layer List widget.
  6. Click + to open the widget collection and choose the Smart Editor widget, and then click OK.
  7. Change the name of the Smart Editor widget to Resource Editor.
  8. In the Layer Settings section, enable editing and disable geometry editing by checking the Editable and Disable Geometry Editing check boxes for all of the layers.
  9. In the General Settings section, check the Use feature template filter, Prompt to save unsaved edits when form is closed or switched to the next record and Require confirmation when deleting a record check boxes.
  10. Type Select a health resource into Provide display text for the edit panel text box.
  11. Click OK.
  12. Hover over the Resource Editor widget, then click the dot and change it to dark green, so the widget automatically opens when the app starts.
  13. Click + to open the widget collection and choose the Basemap Gallery widget and About widget, and then click OK.
  14. Change the name of the About widget to Information and provide information about the application in the text editor, and then click OK.
  15. Click < Widgets to return to the main widget menu.
  16. In the list of default widgets below the Header Controller, turn on the Search widget, by hovering over the widget and clicking on the eye icon in the upper-right corner of the widget.
  17. Click the Attribute tab and click the logo icon, then browse to your Health Resource Inventory application icon.
  18. Choose an icon and click Open.
  19. Type ..used to inventory health resources in Subtitle text box.
  20. Save the application.
  21. Browse to the Health Resource Inventory application and edit the item details:
    • Thumbnail Image: Your image
    • Description: An application used by public health agencies to inventory homeless, drug treatment, and other health and human service providers in a community.
  22. Share the application with public health staff.
  23. Launch your Health Resource Inventory application.
