Poles and signs can be accessed in the field with the ArcGIS Collector and ArcGIS Field Maps apps. Follow the steps below to publish the feature layers required for the Sign Inventory map.

Sign and poles

To publish the Signs and Poles feature layers, complete the following steps:

1. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization.
2. Publish a new hosted feature layer in your organization using the Poles feature layer and add the following title and tags when creating your new hosted feature layers:
   • Title: Poles
   • Tags: Poles, Posts
3. Edit the Poles feature layer item details:
   • Thumbnail image: Your image.
   • Description: Poles erected at intersections or along the side of roads and where signs, lights and signals are typically mounted.
   • Editing: Enable editing and Keep track of who created and last updated features.
   • What kind of editing is allowed: Add, update, and delete features.
   • Sync: Enable Sync (disconnected editing with synchronization).
4. Publish a new hosted feature layer in your organization using the Signs feature layer and add the following title and tags when creating your new hosted feature layers:
   • Title: Signs
   • Tags: Signs, Street Signs
5. Edit the Signs feature layer item details:
   • Thumbnail image: Your image.
   • Description: Signs erected at the side of roads to provide information to road users.
   • Editing: Enable editing and Keep track of who created and last updated features.
   • What kind of editing is allowed: Add, update, and delete features.
   • Sync: Enable Sync (disconnected editing with synchronization).
6. Share the feature layers with field staff responsible for inventorying signs.
