Migrate configuration file

Follow the steps below to migrate your existing configuration file to a new version.

  1. Browse to the location of the configuration file and rename it (for example, previous.aa.config). The configuration file (loaded.aa.config) is located in one of the following directories:
    Operating System Directory
    Windows Vista, 7, 8, 10 and Server 2008, 2012 %AppData%\ArcGISSolutions\ConfigFiles
    Windows XP, 2000 and Server 2003 C:\Documents and Settings\%UserName%\Application Data\ArcGISSolutions\ConfigFiles
  2. Open ArcMap and open the Attribute Assistant toolbar; this will install the configuration file that is shipped with the Add-in.
  3. Open both the loaded.aa.config and previous.aa.config configuration files.
  4. Add any new parameters from the loaded.aa.config to the previous.aa.config file.
  5. Save the changes and rename the loaded.aa.config as shipped.aa.config.
  6. Rename the previous.aa.config to loaded.aa.config.
  7. Restart ArcMap and test your changes.
