Publish services

The Service Qualification solution uses a network analysis map service to quickly determine an optimal route. You can publish this service or use the ArcGIS Online Closest Facility service. Select a deployment method and follow the steps below.

Service qualification route

To publish the ServiceQualificationRoute service, complete the following steps:

  1. Publish the ServiceQualificationRoute.mxd as a network analysis map service using ArcGIS for Server or ArcGIS Enterprise. When publishing the service, enable Mapping and Network Analysis capabilities. Publish service with all other settings as default. Capabilities for publishing a network analysis map service
  2. Configure the service's item description:
    • Title: ServiceQualificationRoute
    • Summary: Network service used to support the Service Qualification app.
    • Tags: Service, Qualification, Customer
    • Description: Use this map service to configure the Service Qualification app.
  3. Open the ArcGIS Services Directory and record the REST endpoint for the service.

Mapping Services

To publish the required services, follow the steps below:

  1. Publish the ServiceQualification.mxd as a hosted service using an ArcGIS Organization or as a feature service using ArcGIS for Server or ArcGIS Enterprise with the Query capability enabled.
  2. Publish the ServiceQualificationResults.mxd as a hosted service using ArcGIS Organization or as a feature service using ArcGIS for Server or ArcGIS Enterprise with the Create, Delete, Query, and Update capabilities enabled.
  3. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization.
  4. Browse to the ServiceQualification service and edit the item details:
    • Title: Service Qualification
    • Thumbnail image: Service Qualification Thumbnail
    • Summary: Layers used to support the Service Qualification app.
    • Description: These map layers are used as input by the Service Qualification map and application. They also serve as a visual reference for the operator.
    • Tags: Telecommunications, Fiber
  5. Browse to the ServiceQualificationResults service and edit the item details:
    • Title: Service Qualification Results
    • Thumbnail image: Service Qualification Results Thumbnail
    • Summary: Layers used to store the Service Qualification app results.
    • Description: These map layers are used to store the selected business and route generated in the Service Qualification app.
    • Tags: Telecommunications, Fiber
