Water batch job

Below is a list of the data quality control checks, broken out by groups, included in the Water batch job delivered with Data Reviewer for Water Utilities. These preconfigured checks are just a sample of the important checks that can be used for validating, maintaining, and ensuring the integrity of water data.

Group name Description
Composite Check This group validates features based on multiple conditions. This group contains checks configured to identify the following:
  • Pipe casings that do not intersect the water mains or water lateral lines. Orphan casings are identified as errors.
  • System valves that do not intersect the water mains or water lateral lines. Orphan system valves are identified as errors.
Domain Checks This group validates feature and table attributes according to values specified by the coded value and range domains of the geodatabase.
Duplicate Geometry Checks This group identifies co-located system valves, hydrants, and service points.
Execute SQL Checks This group contains checks configured to identify the following:
  • System valves that are of type Butterfly with a diameter less than 24 inches.
  • Nulls in the following System Valve fields: Facility ID, Diameter, Valve type, Currently Open Status, and Install Date.
Geometry on Geometry Checks This group contains checks configured to identify the following:
  • Commercial service points not connected to commercial laterals.
  • Domestic service points not connected to domestic laterals.
  • Hydrants not connected to hydrant laterals.
  • System valves that intersect pressurized mains and compare their diameters. Mismatches in diameter between the valve and main are identified as errors.
  • System valves that intersect lateral lines and compare their diameters. Mismatches in diameter between the valve and lateral are identified as errors.
  • Overlapping water mains.
  • Overlapping water lateral lines.
Unique ID Checks This group searches for duplicate values in a table or feature class across the entire geodatabase. Features with the same FacilityID are identified as errors.
Valency Checks This group contains checks configured to search the relationship between fittings and mains to identify the following:
  • Reducers that are not connected to exactly 2 pipes.
  • Reducers that are connected to 2 pipes of same size.
  • Reducers that are missing.
  • Caps that are not connected to exactly 1 pipe.
  • Tees that are missing.
