A custom construction tool can be used to create a new service connection and automatically generate the lateral, cleanout, and tap. When creating these assets, the cleanout is placed at a distance along the lateral. The newly created lateral can be perpendicular to the main, perpendicular to the main with a 45-degree dogleg, or 45-degrees to the main based on flow.

To create a service connection and generate other assets, complete the following steps:

1. Open the Water Geometric Network Editing and Analysis map.
2. Start a new editing session and open the Create Features editing window.
3. Select the Service Connection - Auto Lateral sewer service connection editing template.
4. Add a new service connection to the map. The lateral, cleanout, and tap features with attribute information will be generated automatically.
5. Save your edits and end the editing session.
