Overview
The Water Distribution System Foundation template turns ArcGIS Online into a cloud-based GIS and mapping platform for water distribution utilities.
Deploying the Water Distribution System Foundation template gives your organization access to a preconfigured set of apps that support common water distribution mapping and GIS workflows including the following:
- System mapping
- Information sharing
Organizations with stormwater systems can also deploy the Mapping for Small Stormwater Systems template in combination with the Water Distribution System Foundation template.
After deploying the Water Distribution System Foundation template, map and load your data to begin viewing your utility's information.
The Water Distribution System Foundation template is best suited for organizations that are not ready to represent their water distribution systems as a utility network in ArcGIS. Representing a water distribution system as a utility network enables ArcGIS to model how the system behaves in the real world, providing more robust data management and analysis capabilities.
