Explore the Template

The Vehicle Check Point template comes with a number of different layers that allow you to build your own plan. The project contains a single map and layout, and examples of each.

To explore the template, complete the following tasks and steps from the task item:

  1. Explore the Template
    • About the Template – Review the purpose of the template.
  2. Examine the Table of Contents
    • Expand all layers in TOC – View the layer contents and the symbols associated with each feature.
    • Check the Basemap – View imagery used for the basemap.
    • Examine Inset Map – View the topographic map used for the inset map.
  3. Explore the Dictionary Renderer
    • Select Land Equipment Layer – Select the Land Equipment layer in the Contents Pane.
    • Examine the Land Equipment Symbology Pane – Examine the dictionary renderer used for the Land Equipment layer.
    • Select Control Measures Line Layer – Select the Control Measure Lines layer in the Contents Pane.
    • Examine The Control Measures Line Symbology Pane – Examine the dictionary renderer used for the Control Measures Line layer.
  4. Examine the Layout
    • Open Layout – Examine the marginal information.
