Create map

The Pre-Incident Plan Field Inventory application requires a map to allow fire personnel to assign, review and approve Fire Pre-Incident Plans. Create the Pre-Incident Plan Field Inventory map and share it with your Fire service personnel.

Pre-Incident Plan Field Inventory map

To create an Pre-Incident Plan Field Inventory map, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization.
  2. Create a map to allow fire personal to collect and validate the locations of fire protection assets, such as key boxes, alarm control panels, and utility shut offs, by completing the following workflows:
    • Choose a basemap.
    • Add the FirePreIncidentPlans layer to the map and remove FirePreIncidentPlans - from the layers name.
    • Configure pop-up for all of the layers using the list of field attributes option.
    • Save the map as Pre-Incident Plan Field Inventory and add the following tags and summary:
      • Tags: Pre-Incident, Fire Service
      • Summary: A map used by fire personnel to collect hazards, equipment, and supplies, needed to deal with a potential incident.
  3. Browse to the map and edit the item details:
    • Thumbnail image: Your image.
    • Description: A map used by fire personnel to collect hazards, equipment, and supplies, needed to deal with a potential incident.
  4. Share the map with fire service personnel responsible for collecting Fire Pre-Incident Plan information in the field.
  5. Set map options by disabling Routing and Measure Tool. Under Find Locations, enable both By Address and By Layer, before choosing a feature layer you want to be searchable.
  6. Sign in to ArcGIS Collector app to access the Pre-Incident Plan Field Inventory map.
