As new poles and streetlights are collected in the field, asset identifiers (for example, Facility IDs) can be assigned to the new features by mapping technicians using ArcGIS for Desktop and the Attribute Assistant Add-In. The asset identifier for each pole can also be assigned to the respective streetlights so users understand which streetlights are attached to a given pole. Optionally, configure the format of the asset identifier rules to align with current information managed in your organization.

Assigning asset identifiers in the office optimizes field activities and allows operations staff to focus on the asset's physical characteristics. It also prepares the asset data collected in the field for maintenance management workflows used throughout your organization.
