The Model Organization for Electric Utilities will help you set up an ArcGIS organization. Your specific configuration may vary depending on the functional responsibilities of your utility and the maturity of your ArcGIS implementation.

Author and share your geographic content

ArcGIS for Electric includes a series of focused information products you can deploy in your organization. Deployed with your own data, these focused maps and apps will help you address key business challenges in your organization.

To author and share geographic content, complete the following steps:

1. Using an Internet browser, go to ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS and sign in with your publisher account.
2. Add existing items to your organization or publish your maps and data as hosted web services to your organization. At a minimum, each item description should include the following:
   • Name
   • Icon
   • Summary
   • Description
   • Tags
3. Share the items with an appropriate group you created.

Create your electric utility user accounts

To create electric utility user accounts, complete the following steps:

1. Using an Internet browser, go to ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS and sign in with your administrator account.
2. Create a user account for each user in your organization and add users to the appropriate groups.
