Procedural Modeling

Use the procedural rules and sample data to create the Urban Mission Rehearsal 3D Web Scene.

  1. Open the imported Urban Mission Rehearsal project in the CityEngine workspace.
  2. Navigate to the scenes folder of the UrbanMissionRehearsal project.
  3. Double-click the UrbanMissionRehearsal.cej file.
  4. In the Scene pane, select the Streets features by right-clicking and choosing Select Objects.
  5. In the Shapes tab of the Inspector pane, assign the Street_Modern_Standard.cga rule file from the Streets folder in the Esri rules library.
  6. In the Scene pane, select the Trees features by right-clicking and choosing Select Objects.
  7. In the Shapes tab of the Inspector pane, assign the Plant_Loader.cga rule file from the Plants folder in the Esri rules library.
  8. In the Layer tab of the Inspector pane, use the Name attribute to symbolize your trees and select Coconut Palm (you may have to deselect the objects to access the tab).
  9. In the Scene pane, select the Walls features by right-clicking and choosing Select Objects.
  10. In the Shapes tab of the Inspector pane, use the Walls.cga rule file from the rules folder of the UrbanMissionRehearsal project.
  11. Continue to apply the following rules to their corresponding layers:
    • Powerlines
    • Route Buildings
    • Non-Route Buildings
    • Target Building
    • Target Identifier
  12. When all the rules have been applied, select all the features in the Viewport window and Generate the models.
