Visibility and Range tools are now available in the Military Tools solution.
Overview
The Visibility and Range template is an ArcGIS 10.3 for Desktop template for creating visibility and range products. The tools and feature classes contained in this template allow you to analyze defensive positions based on visibility and weapons range. The Visibility and Range template allows you to:
- Create range rings with radials around points at specified intervals and distances.
- Use provided feature templates for marking up visibility and range products.
- Create range fans interactively or from features with attributes for range, bearing, and traversal.
- Analyze lines of sight between observers and targets.
- Find areas that are visible or not visible to one or more observers.
Requirements
Visibility and Range 5.0.0 is for ArcGIS Pro 1.3 for Desktop. Minimum system requirements for the ArcGIS Platform can be found on the Support website.
Visibility and Range is supported on ArcGIS 10.0, 10.1, 10.2.2, 10.3, and ArcGIS Pro 1.3.

What you get
When you download the Visibility and Range template it has an ArcGIS Pro Project Template, which includes the following:

| Scratch.gdb | A file geodatabase used for intermediate data from geoprocessing. | |
| VisibilityAndRange.gdb | A file geodatabase holding sample data that can be used with the template. | |
| Toolboxes | layers | Layer files used for the Visibility and Range template. |
| scripts | Scripts used by the model tools in Visibility and Range Tools.tbx and Visibility Data Prep Tools.tbx. | |
| Visibility and Range.tbx | A toolbox containing tools used for visibility and range analysis. |
