Configure application

The Pre-Incident Plan Coordinator application is a configuration of ArcGIS Web AppBuilder. The application consumes the Pre-Incident Plan Coordinator map.

Pre-Incident Plan Coordinator application

To configure the Pre-Incident Plan Coordinator application, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization.
  2. Create an app using Web AppBuilder and add the following:
    • Title: Pre-Incident Plan Coordinator
    • Tags: Fire Service, PreIncident Planning, Local Government
    • Summary: Pre-Incident Plan Coordinator can be used by fire service command staff to facilitate the inspection process and manage the creation and assignment of pre-incident plans.
  3. Click the Theme tab and choose the Plateau Theme, then choose the Style and Layout for your Pre-Incident Plan Coordinator application.
  4. Click the Map tab and if necessary click Choose Web Map, then browse to the Pre-Incident Plan Coordinator map and click OK.
  5. Click the Widgets tab, then click Set the widget in this controller and remove the Legend widget.
  6. Click + to open the widget collection and choose the Smart Editor widget, and then click OK.
  7. Change the name of the Smart Editor widget to Create Pre-Incident Plans.
  8. Enable editing on the Pre-Incident Plans layer only, by checking the Editable check box next to the layer name.
  9. Disable editing on the remaining layers by unchecking the Editable check box next to each layer.
  10. Check the Allow Delete check box for the Pre-Incident Plans layer.
  11. Click the Edit icon under the Fields column next the Pre-Incident Plans layer to open the Configure Fields window.
  12. Enable the Display and Editable options for all attribute fields.
  13. Enable the Preset option for the following fields; Complex, Station, Shift, Due Date, and Status, and then click OK twice.
  14. Click + to open the widget collection and choose the Batch Attribute Editor widget, and then click OK.
  15. Change the name of the Batch Attribute Editor widget to Assign Pre-Incident Plans.
  16. Click the Define Layer(s) to Update tab and under the Update column check the check box next to the Pre-Incident Plans layer.
  17. Click the Define Field(s) to Update tab and make the following fields editable by checking the check box next to the field; Plan Name, Complex, Full Address, Station, Shift, Due Date, and Status, and then click OK.
  18. Click + to open the widget collection and choose the Query widget, and then click OK.
  19. Change the name of the Query widget to Find Pre-Incident Plans.
  20. Click New Query and choose the Pre-Incident Plans layer from the list, and then click OK.
  21. Change the Title to Last Inspected.
  22. Click the Filters tab > Set > Add A filter expression and create a filter using the following expression: Last Inspected is before and specify a date.
  23. Check the Ask for Values check box and change the Prompt text to Last Inspected is before, and then click OK twice.
  24. Click < Widgets to return to the main widget menu.
  25. In the list of default widgets below the Header Controller, turn on the Attribute Table widget and Search widget, by hovering the mouse pointer over the widget and click the small eye icon in the upper right corner.
  26. Change the name of the Search widget to Address Search.
  27. Click the Attribute tab and type in Pre-Incident Coordinator as the application title, then uncheck the Keeps map extent and layers visibility while leaving the app option.
  28. Save the application.
  29. Browse to the application item details page and share it with the fire service personnel.
