Overview

The Pre-Incident-Planning map supports a series of workflows and tools for collecting and managing pre-incident data. These editing workflows assume the requirements for Pre-Incident Planning have been met, and the Attribute Assistant have been installed and added to the Pre-Incident-Planning editing map.

Pre-incident plans can be created for large complexes such as schools, universities, apartment complexes, shopping centers, industrial facilities, and recreational facilities. In addition, Pre-incident plans can be created for individual buildings within or outside of a complex.

The Pre-Incident Planning editing map is organized in three levels:

  • First due information
  • Building or site information
  • Response information

First due information includes building or complex information, along with the location of the key box, alarm or control panels, safety hazards, and so on. Building or site information includes utility shutoffs, building interiors, and other features needed for operational awareness when responding to an incident (stairwells, photos, video camera feeds, access hazards, and so on). Response information includes incident strategy and specific tactical actions along with supporting information needed when responding to an incident at the building or complex. Once automated, pre-incident plans can be reviewed en route so that public safety (fire and law enforcement) personnel have the locational information they need to execute their tasks.
