Military Aspects of Terrain

Install the Template

To install the template, complete the following steps:

  1. Review the hardware, software and data requirements for this template.
  2. Go to ArcGIS Online and search for Military Aspects of Terrain.
  3. Click the Military Aspects Of Terrain template link. The page that describes the template appears.
  4. Click the drop-down arrow on the Open button and click Download. The File Download dialog box is displayed.
  5. Click the Save button.
  6. In the Save As dialog box, navigate to a folder where you will start your work, then click Save. The template (Military_Aspects_Of_Terrain_template_for_ArcGIS_10_1 .zip) is downloaded to the folder. When the download is complete, the Download Complete dialog box appears.
  7. In the Download Complete dialog box, click the Open Folder button. Windows Explorer opens and displays the downloaded template.
  8. Use your extraction utility to extract the Military_Aspects_Of_Terrain_template_for_ArcGIS_10_1.zip file to a folder on your computer. If you use other Esri Defense and Intelligence templates, a good location is c:\ArcGISForDefense\Intelligence\Military Aspects Of Terrain.
