Configure functional groups

Functional groups should be added to your ArcGIS Online organization to address departmental or business needs in emergency management. Typically, the structure of the functional groups align closely with your organizational structure and the services you are responsible for delivering. You can configure one or more of the functional groups outlined below in your ArcGIS Online organization.

To configure functional groups, complete the following steps:

  1. Using an Internet browser, go to ArcGIS Online and sign in with your administrator account.
  2. Create an account for each individual that will own a functional area in your organization (for example, Emergency Management and Department of Environmental Protection). The new accounts will own the functional groups and be responsible for developing and cataloging items that meet their organizational needs. Each of these accounts should be defined as a publisher role in ArcGIS Online. The account responsible for the specific function you'd like to configure in your organization should complete the following steps:
  3. Using an Internet browser, go to ArcGIS Online and sign in.
  4. Configure functional groups.
    Function Description
    Emergency Management Groups that are organized by the various phases of response and support functions with state emergency response organizations.
