Summary
This tool estimates an area of impact for each predicted flood level. The flood impact area is the intersection of the flood inundation area and municipal or jurisdictional boundaries.
Usage
- This tool adds a new feature to a feature class storing flood impact area polygons. Characteristics of the population potentially impacted by the flood can be found in the attributes of this feature.

| Inundation Features | Feature class or layer containing the inundation area polygons. For best results with your data, use engineering-quality inundation polygons created using hydrological modeling tools. In the Local Government Information Model, this is LocalGovernment.gdb\PublicSafetyPlanning\InundationArea. |

| Flood Level | Choose the Inundation Area feature to use for the current analysis by selecting the expected flood level. The values listed in the drop-down menu are from the Flood Level field in the InundationArea feature class. |

| Administrative Area | Polygon feature class or layer containing administrative or jurisdictional boundaries, such as municipal boundaries or flood response zones. The output flood areas are clipped to the extent of this administrative area. In the Local Government Information Model, administrative boundaries are found in the AdministrativeArea feature dataset. |

| Flood Area Name | A unique name for the impact area. For example, the name of a flood impact area for a flood level of 10 could be Flood Level 10 or Zone 1 Flood Level 10. |
