After determining the potential flood impact, use the Editing toolbar to create levees. Several feature templates have been developed for the Levee layer.
The Attribute Assistant Add-In automates attribute population and calculates the cost estimate for levee materials. As the levee attributes (height, width, slope, and so on) are entered, the Attribute Assistant Add-In computes the number of cubic yards of material needed and a cost estimate for the levee.
To estimate the cost of levee construction, complete the following steps:
- Browse to the MapsandGeodatabase folder and open FloodPlanning.mxd.
- Start an edit session.
- Click the Create Features button and click the levee type you want to create.
- Use the Line construction tool to draw the levee on the map.
- Fill in the feature attribute for the new levee by typing the levee dimensions in the appropriate fields. As the levee attributes are populated, the Attribute Assistant Add-In calculates the cost estimate for levee materials.
