Public Safety Incident Maps

Publish services

Each public safety incident layer must be published initially to ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS for Server or ArcGIS Enterprise before configuring incident updates. Select a deployment method and follow the steps below to publish the services required for the Public Safety Incident Maps.

To publish each of the incident layers as a service, complete the following steps:

  1. Browse to the MapsandGeodatabase folder and open one of the following map documents:
    • Arrests.mxd
    • CallService.mxd
    • Offenses.mxd
    • Parolees.mxd
    • Probationers.mxd
    • SexOffenders.mxd
    • Warrants.mxd
  2. Publish each map incident map document as a hosted feature layer using ArcGIS Online or as a map service using ArcGIS for Server or ArcGIS Enterprise.
  3. Sign in to your ArcGIS Online organization.
  4. Browse to each incident service and edit the item details: title, thumbnail image, summary, description, tags, and share them with your organization.
