Create map

The ArcGIS Collector or ArcGIS Field Maps apps consume maps that are accessible to named users in your ArcGIS organization. Create a Traffic Calming Inventory map and share it with individuals collecting traffic calming devices in your organization. Field staff can then access the map on their smartphones or tablets when they sign in to the ArcGIS Collector or ArcGIS Field Maps.

Traffic Calming Inventory map

To create an Traffic Calming Inventory map, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization.
  2. Create a map used to inventory traffic calming devices, by completing the following workflows:
    • Choose a basemap.
    • Add the TrafficCalmingDevices layer to the map and rename it to Traffic Calming Devices.
    • Configure pop-up for the Traffic Calming Devices layer using the list of field attributes option.
    • Save the map as Traffic Calming Inventory and add the following tags and summary:
      • Tags: Public Works, Traffic Calming Inventory, Traffic Calming Devices, Transportation.
      • Summary: Traffic Calming Inventory is a map that can be used by field staff to inventory devices designed to reduce traffic flow and encourage safer, more responsible driving.
  3. Set map options by disabling Routing and the Measuring Tool.
  4. Share the map with field staff responsible for inventorying traffic calming devices.
  5. Sign in to ArcGIS Collector or ArcGIS Field Maps to access the Traffic Calming Inventory map.
