Publish services

The System Improvement Map utilizes a feature service or map service of maintenance information. Optionally, you can publish an editable feature service to store the locations entered in the app. Select a deployment method and follow the steps below to publish the services required for the System Improvement map.

To publish the System Improvement map to your ArcGIS organization, complete the following steps:

  1. Publish the SystemImprovement.mxd file as a hosted feature service or as a feature service using ArcGIS for Server or ArcGIS Enterprise.
  2. Publish the SystemImprovementRequestTracking.mxd file as a hosted feature service or as a feature service using ArcGIS for Server or ArcGIS Enterprise.
  3. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization.
  4. Browse to the SystemImprovement service and edit the item details:
    • Title: SystemImprovement
    • Thumbnail image: System Improvement Thumbnail
    • Summary: Service providing a view of Trimming Areas and Line Maintenance Areas.
    • Description: These layers include the last service date and the upcoming scheduled service.
    • Tags: Trimming, Maintenance, Improvement
  5. Browse to the SystemImprovementRequestTracking service and edit the item details:
    • Title: SystemImprovementRequestTracking
    • Thumbnail image: System Improvement Request Tracking Thumbnail
    • Summary: A service to store the locations used in the System Improvement app based on location, address, or mouse click.
    • Description: The Request Tracking service is designed to be used by a utility to capture location input by users of the System Improvement app. The service is uploaded as a feature service to provide a scalable service that will not impact the office network when under high demand.
