When more information about a CIP project is known, this information can be added to existing projects within the CIP Project layers using the Cost Estimating toolbar.
To edit a CIP Project, complete the following steps:
- Open the Water Utility Capital Planning map.
- Open the Project Cost Estimating Window button on the Cost Estimating toolbar and dock within the map document.
- Click the Select and Load Existing Project button in the Project Cost Estimating window and choose a project in the map. This project is then added to the Project Cost Estimating window.
- Click the Start Editing the CIP Layers Workspace button in the Project Cost Estimate window to change existing assets or project details.
- New assets can be sketched or existing assets can be added to this project by using the Sketch New Asset tool or selecting an existing asset.
- Click Save Selected Assets to a Project to save any new features to the CIP Projects layers.
- When all asset and project detail information is added, click Save Edits within the Project Cost Estimating window.
- Click the Stop Editing the CIP Layers Workspace button within the Project Cost Estimating window to end the editing session.
- The project and assets can now be viewed with estimated cost within the CIP Projects layers.
