Create maps

Drug Drop-off Calculator allows public safety staff to tabulate the weight of unused prescription drugs turned in at drop-off locations and communicate the weight of unused prescription drugs through informative charts. The following maps must be created to collect drug weights and share current and weights with internal stakeholders or the general public:

Drug Drop-off Calculator map

The Crowdsource Polling configurable application template consumes maps that are accessible to named users in your ArcGIS organization. Create a Drug Drop-off Calculator map and share it with users inside your organization responsible for tabulating drug weights. They can then access the application on their smartphone, tablets, and desktop computers.

To create an Drug Drop-off Calculator map, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization.
  2. Create a map used to tabulate the weight of unused prescription drugs turned in at drop-off locations, by completing the following workflows:
    • Choose a basemap.
    • Add the PrescriptionDrugLocations layer to the map, then remove Naloxone Distribution layer. Rename the layer to Drug Drop-off Locations and table to Drug Weight.
    • Configure pop-up for the Drug Drop-off Locations layer and Drug Weight table using the list of field attributes option.
    • Save the map as Drug Drop-off Calculator and add the following tags and summary:
      • Tags: Drug Drop-off, Prescriptions, Naloxone Distribution, Weights, Reports, Public Health, Law Enforcement, Fire Service.
      • Summary: A map used in the Drug Drop-off Calculator application to tabulate the weight of unused prescription drugs turned in at drop-off locations.
  3. Share the map with users inside your organization responsible for tabulating the weight of unused prescription drugs.
  4. Browse to the map and edit the item details:
    • Thumbnail Image: Your image.
    • Description: A map used in the Drug Drop-off Calculator application to tabulate the weight of unused prescription drugs turned in at drop-off locations.
  5. Set map options by disabling Routing, Measure Tool, and Basemap Selector. Under Find Locations, disable By Address then enable By Layer, before choosing a feature layer you want to be searchable.

Drug Drop-off Reports map

The Drug Drop-off Reports application consumes maps that are accessible to the general public and named users in your ArcGIS organization. Create a Drug Drop-off Reports map and share it with users inside your organization responsible for drug drop-off locations or the general public. They can then access the application on their tablets and desktop computers.

To create an Drug Drop-off Reports map, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization.
  2. Create a map used to communicate the weight of unused prescription drugs through informative charts, by completing the following workflows:
    • Choose a basemap.
    • Add the PrescriptionDrugLocations_public layer to the map, then remove the Naloxone Distribution layer. Rename the layer to Drug Drop-off Locations and table to Drug Weight.
    • Save the map as Drug Drop-off Reports and add the following tags and summary:
      • Tags: Drug Drop-off, Prescriptions, Naloxone Distribution, Weights, Reports, Public Health, Law Enforcement, Fire Service.
      • Summary: A map used in the Drug Drop-off Reports application to share current and historical weights with internal stakeholders or the general public.
  3. Share the map with users inside your organization responsible for drop-off locations.
  4. Browse to the map and edit the item details:
    • Thumbnail Image: Your image.
    • Description: A map used in the Drug Drop-off Reports application to share current and historical weights with internal stakeholders or the general public.
