Configure application

The Pain Management Locator application is a configuration of ArcGIS Web AppBuilder. This application consumes the Pain Management Locator map you authored and geographic information from your organization.

Pain Management Locator application

To configure the Pain Management Locator application, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization.
  2. Create an app using Web AppBuilder and add the following:
    • Title: Pain Management Locator
    • Tags: Alternative Medicine, Pain Management, Health, Human Services, Public Health.
    • Summary: An application used by the general public to locate facilities that provide alternative treatments to pain management.
  3. Click the Theme tab and choose the Plateau Theme, then choose the Style and Layout for your Pain Management Locator application.
  4. Click the Map tab and if necessary click Choose Web Map, then browse to the Pain Management Locator map and click OK.
  5. Click the Widgets tab, then click Set the widget in this controller and remove the Legend widget and Layer List widget.
  6. Click + to open the widget collection and choose the Near Me widget, and then click OK.
  7. Change the name of the Near Me widget to Pain Management Facilities.
  8. In the Search Source Settings section, click Add Search Source > Feature Layer.
  9. Choose the Acupuncture layer and click OK.
  10. Type Acupuncture in the Placeholder Text text box.
  11. Click the pencil icon to add search fields. Check the check box next to the Name of Facility field, and then click OK.
  12. Click the Display Field drop-down and choose Name of Facility.
  13. Repeat step 8 through 13 for each treatment facility type (Chiropractor, Hypnosis, Massage, Physical Therapy and Yoga).
  14. Click the Search Settings tab, set the Select Search Layer(s), by clicking the Set button and checking the check box next to the Acupuncture, Chiropractor, Hypnosis, Massage, Physical Therapy, and Yoga layers, and then click OK.
  15. Check the Set location button, Set buffer visibility, Use geodesic buffer, and Zoom to the selected feature check boxes.
  16. Set the Set default buffer distance to 2, the Set maximum buffer distance to 20, and Buffer distance units to Miles, and then click OK.
  17. Hover over the Pain Management Facilities widget, then click the dot and change it to dark green, so the widget automatically opens when the app starts.
  18. Click + to open the widget collection and choose the About widget, and then click OK.
  19. Change the name of the About widget to Information and provide information about the application in the text editor, and then click OK.
  20. Click the Attribute tab and click the logo icon, then browse to your Pain Management Locator application icon.
  21. Choose an icon and click Open.
  22. Type ...alternatives to opiate based medication for pain management in Subtitle text box.
  23. Save the application.
  24. Browse to the Pain Management Locator application and edit the item details:
    • Thumbnail Image: Your image
    • Description: An application used by the general public to locate facilities that provide alternative treatments to pain management.
  25. Share the application with everyone.
  26. Launch your Pain Management Locator application.
