Create map

ArcGIS Web AppBuilder application consumes maps that are accessible to the general public and named users in your ArcGIS organization. Create a Pain Management Locator map and share it with the general public. They can then access the application on their smartphone, tablets, and desktop computers.

Pain Management Locator map

To create an Pain Management Locator map, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization.
  2. Create a map used to find pain management facilities, by completing the following workflows:
    • Choose a basemap.
    • Add the HealthFacilities_public layer to the map, then remove the Drug Treatment, Mental Health, Health and Human Services, and Homeless layers. Rename the HealthFacilities_public - Alternative Medicine layer to Acupuncture.
    • Configure pop-up for the Acupuncture layer using the list of field attributes option.
    • Save the map as Pain Management Locator and add the following tags and summary:
      • Tags: Alternative Medicine, Pain Management, Health, Human Services, Public Health.
      • Summary: A map used in the Pain Management Locator application to locate facilities that provide alternative treatments to pain management.
  3. Apply a filter to the Acupuncture layer by using the expression Facility Type is Acupuncture. This filter will show all health facilities that provide acupuncture services.
  4. Create a copy of the Acupuncture layer and rename it to Chiropractor.
  5. Edit the Acupuncture layer filter to use the following expression: Facility Type is Chiropractor. This filter will show all health facilities that provide chiropractor services.
  6. Repeat step 5 and 6 for the remaining pain management facility layers such as, Hypnosis, Massage, Physical Therapy, and Yoga.
  7. Save the map and share it with everyone.
  8. Browse to the map and edit the item details:
    • Thumbnail image: Your image.
    • Description: A map used in the Pain Management Locator application to locate facilities that provide alternative treatments to pain management.
  9. Set map options by disabling Routing, Measure Tool, and Basemap Selector.
