Publishing the map can be as easy as printing it out to carry, or you can publish it as a service for others to use in their workflows.
Creating the Printout
- Switch to Layout View.
- Input or Update the information in the header, including:
- Title
- Date
- Location
- Unit (and Insignia or Logo)
- Classification information
- Image derivation
- Date-Time Group (DTG)
- If necessary, rotate the data frame to orient on the GRG, by either:
- Right-clicking on on Data Frame (Clearing Operations) > Properties > General and setting Rotation to 0.
- Navigating to Customize > Toolbars and selecting Data Frame Tools. Click Clear Rotation.
- If necessary, export the map by navigating to File > Export Map.
- Print the map.
Publishing the Service
- Remove the basemap from the data frame.
- Navigate to File > Share As > Service.
- Select Publish a service.
- Choose the connection desired and input a name.
- Input at least the Summary and Tags in the Item Description.
- Set the desired Sharing preferences.
- Analyze for errors and warnings, and then Publish.
- Navigate to the associated portal item, and ensure it looks correct.
