Configure potential impact

The Logistics Planning requires the USA Block Groups Living Atlas layer. Follow the steps below to add USA Block Groups layer to your map, and configure the widget to use in the application.

Add USA Block Groups layer

To add the USA Block Groups layer to the Logistics Planning map, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization and browse to the map.
  2. Click the Open in Map Viewer button and click Web Map Settings.
  3. Click the Add button and choose Browse Living Atlas Layers.
  4. Type USA Block Groups, press the Enter key, choose USA Block Groups.
  5. To close the search pane when you are finished, click the Back button.
  6. Click the Add to Map button.
  7. In the contents pane, next to the USA Block Groups layer, click the Ellipse button, and choose Remove Pop-up.
  8. Change the style of the layer by choosing no color.
  9. Save the map.

Configure potential impact widget

To configure the Logistics Planning application to use USA Block Groups, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your ArcGIS Online organization.
  2. Browse to the ArcGIS Web AppBuilder application item page and click Edit Application.
  3. Click the Widgets tab, then click Set the widget in this controller.
  4. Hover over the Potential Impact widget, and then click Configure this widget.
  5. In your Potential Impact widget, add a potential impact tab to display summarized information from the USA Block Groups layer in the map by clicking Add Tab.
  6. Choose USA Block Groups layer in the Layer column, Summary in the Analysis Type column and type Potential Impact in the Label text box.
  7. Under the Action column, click the Edit tool to open the Select Fields window, then add the following fields, labels, and types:
    Field Label Type
    POP2012 Total Population SUM
    AGE_UNDER5 Children Under 5 SUM
    AGE_85_UP Adults Over 85 SUM
  8. Click OK.
  9. Save the application and share it with everyone.
  10. Launch your application.
