Publish feature layer

Restaurant inspection information can be shared using the Restaurant Inspection Results application. Follow the steps below to publish the feature layer required for the Restaurant Inspection Results application.

Restaurant Inspections

To publish the RestaurantInspections feature layer, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization.
  2. Publish a new hosted feature layer in your organization using the RestaurantInspections feature layer and add the following title and tags when creating your new hosted feature layer:
    • Title: RestaurantInspection
    • Tags: Health, Inspection, Restaurant
  3. Edit the feature layer item details:
    • Thumbnail image: Your image.
    • Description: A feature layer used to store locations where restaurants and other retail food facilities require routine inspections.
    • Editing: Enable editing, Keep track of who created and last updated features, and Keep track of who created and last updated features.
    • What kind of editing is allowed: Add, update, and delete features.
    • What features can editors edit: Editors can only edit their own features (requires tracking).
    • Sync: Disable Sync.
  4. Share the feature layer with users inside your organization responsible for mapping restaurant inspections.
  5. Create a hosted feature layer view of RestaurantInspections to share restaurant inspection results. Add the following title, tags, and summary when creating a new hosted feature layer view:
    • Title: RestaurantInspections_Public.
    • Tags: Health, Department of Health.
    • Summary: A public feature layer view used to share locations where restaurants and other retail food facilities require routine inspections.
  6. Edit the hosted feature layer view item details:
    • Thumbnail Image: Your image
    • Editing: Disable editing
  7. Share the RestaurantInspections_Public feature layer view with everyone.
