Create groups

Capital Project Tracking leverages several ArcGIS Online groups contained in the ArcGIS Online for Local Government solution. Two additional groups must also be created to organize and share the Capital Project Tracking maps and applications.

Create your Capital Project Tracking groups

To create the Capital Project Tracking groups, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your ArcGIS Online organization.
  2. Create the following groups in your ArcGIS Online organization.
    Details

    Owner: GIS-IT Administrator Account

    Group Name: Public Maps and Apps

    Summary: A collection of maps and apps our organization makes available to the general public.

    Tags: Citizen Engagement, Maps, Apps, Customers, Citizens, Public Information

    Who can view this group: Everyone (public)

    Who can join this group: Only those invited by a group manager

    Who can contribute content to the group: Group members

    Sort group content by: Title and Ascending

    Details

    Owner: Public Works Publisher account

    Group Name: Engineering and Construction

    Summary: This group is used by engineering and construction staff responsible for the planning, design, permitting, and construction of capital projects.
