Assemble fire run book

Fire Run Book can be used to create a map book for each station or for the entire district. In large fire districts it may be more manageable to create a fire run book for the response area of each fire station. Units assigned to another station or mutual aid partners can share their fire run books as needed.

To assemble your fire run book, complete the following steps:

  1. Open the Create PDF Map Book tool from the Map Book toolset, in the Local Government toolbox found at MapsandGeodatabase\LocalGovernment.tbx.
  2. Choose an output location and type a file name for the Output PDF parameter.
  3. Select the PDF documents to include in your fire run book in the Append PDFs parameter. The document at the top of the list will appear at the front of the fire run book and the document at the end of the list will appear at the back.
  4. Optionally, type values for the remaining parameters. These values will appear in the metadata of the PDF document.
  5. Click OK. This will append the PDF files into one document. The PDF document will open when the tool is completed. The fire run book can now be printed or published to your ArcGIS Online organizational account.
