Add road characteristics

A series of map layers in the Road Network Management map are used to track the characteristics of each public street, these characteristics include:

  • Ownership
  • Functional Classification
  • Speed Limit
  • Lane Width
  • Number of Lanes
  • Curb Type
  • Pavement Type
  • Special Routes (for example, Truck, Snow and Bike Lanes)

Where appropriate, the feature classification and type schema for each road characteristic has been adapted from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Specific attributes and default values vary for each feature type.
