Road intersection points represent a location where two or more public streets intersect. Typically, intersection points are placed at the intersection of two or more road centerline features associated with the intersection.

As new intersection features are added to the map, they are uniquely identified and each intersecting street is populated on the intersection. These characteristics allow users to quickly locate an intersection and associate key asset information (for example, signals and intersection details) with each intersection.

Add road intersections

To create an intersection point, complete the following steps:

1. Start an edit session.
2. In the Create Features window, click the Intersections feature template.
3. Click the Point construction tool.
4. Click the location along the road centerline where the intersection should be placed. This is often the location of two or more intersecting streets.
5. Add the new intersections to the map.
6. Save your edits.
