Functional groups can be added to your organization to address departmental or business needs in the company. Typically, the structure of the functional groups aligns closely with your organizational structure and the services you are responsible for delivering. You can configure one or more of the functional groups outlined below in your organization.
To configure functional groups, complete the following steps:
- Using an Internet browser, go to ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS and sign in with your administrator account.
- Create an account for each individual that will own a functional area in your organization (for example, Operations and Customer Service). The new accounts will own the functional groups and be responsible for developing and cataloging items that meet their organizational needs. Each of these accounts should be a publisher role in your organization.
- Using an Internet browser, go to ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS and sign in.
- Create the following groups in your ArcGIS Online subscription.
