Use Leak Assignment

The Leak Assignment ArcGIS Workforce project is designed for operation managers to create and manage work assignments and for mobile workers to review and complete assignments in the field.

Create an assignment

As an operations manager or dispatcher, you need to review reported leaks or outages and assign field workers to investigate reports and make repairs. The following steps describe how to assign work to your field crews. If you're new to Workforce, see Create your first project for general information on the product before using the steps below.

  1. If necessary, sign in to the ArcGIS Workforce web app and click My Projects.
  2. Open the Leak Assignment project.
  3. Click Search Search on the map to show the search box and type in an address, or click a Leak Issues point.

The leak details appear below the search box.

  4. At the bottom of the details, click Create Assignment.

The Create Assignment pane appears. The Location option of the assignment is set to the location of the observation report and to display the observation reports ID.

  5. For Assignment Type, choose Leak Investigation.
  6. Under Location, click Edit Edit to add information about the location.

An assignment type and a location are the only requirements when creating assignments, but it is recommended that you add information, such as the Priority and Due Date options, to communicate urgency and stay organized.

  7. Optionally, add information or attachments relevant to the assignment.
  8. Click Create Assignment to create the assignment, assign it to the field technician specified, and notify the field worker on their mobile device.
